Equipment and Flies

(Remember, Copper River provides guests with all flies. If you would like to bring some of your own, we suggest the following):

Rainbow Trout , Sockeye Salmon Equipment

Rods: 9 to 9 1⁄2 foot models, in 5 wt, 6 wt and 7 wt size range. Favorites include Winston Bllx, Sage Z-Axis, and The Fly Shop H2O rods
Reels: Ross Vexsis and Cimmaron, Sage 4500 Series, Galvan Torque, and The Fly Shop’s S4La reels
Lines: Rio Gold Floater, Rio 15’ Density Compensated Type 3 Sinking Tip
Leaders: 7 1⁄2’ tapered leaders of choice, tapering to 0X and 2X, with tippet spools to match, plus a spool or two of 3X and 4X. Some anglers/guides prefer to use 4-6 feet of Maxima Chameleon or Ultra Green tippet in lieu of a tapered leader – if this is you, bring spools of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 pound material.
